Hi all I need some answers about following:
I am using slate tiles to finish off a fireplace both on the chimney wall and the hearth. Do I need a flexible heat resistant adhesive bearing in mind the back of the stove will only be 80mm from the wall?
Also to tidy up the wall after removal of the old fireplace I used a bit of bonding to get the walls true/straight. Will this hold firm under the tiles and adhesive ?
Also can I get away with using standard bal black grout? It seems there is a lot of conflicting advice out there!

Much obliged for any responses,

Nev
