I want to install a shower over my bath but which do I do first - install the shower or tile the walls? Also the adhesive says to mix "3 and a half parts powder to one part water by weight" (Butech). Does this mean I weigh the powder and weigh the water?!!!!

You run the piping/cables and have them prodrude through the wall. Tank the walls. Tile the walls, making sure you leave it neat around the pipes/cables. Then fit the shower.

Just mix the adhesive so that it's like smooth peanut butter. Put about 1 1/2 inches of water in a bucket and add the powder to it, keep adding powder and mixing until it's pretty thick.

Its a new-build house and we asked them to put the pipework and cabling there but decided to save money and tile it ourselves. Bit of a false economy - sure they'd have done it quicker and easier than me! - but you know how it is when every penny counts.

Thanks for the advice - off to try and remove the tile trim that's around the tiles already there!!!!
