Help as the so called sales people in the large electrical shops are useless.

I need to replace our existing cooker which currently plugs straight in to a socket via a 13amp fused plug. Am I right in thinking that provding any replacement cooker is 13amp rated that it can be plugged in in the sameway via wiring to a 13amp fused plug as opposed to needing to be "hardwired"?

Cheers for you help :D

I take it you mean a electric oven!
I believe using a 'fused connection unit' is preferred to a 3 pin plug based on way the connection is made. Have to agree the fsu has to be better.
Would this be connected to its own dedicated circuit or being plugged into the ring main.
