Hi, all of a sudden my toilet has started to refill itself really slowly and is making a hissing noise, I asume it's a faulty inlet valve, my question is are the inlet valves that you can buy in B&Q etc universal ?

It's a bottom feed by the way

Cheers

It depends on the type of toilet as to what will fit. Modern cisterns are smaller and the old type ballvalve may not fit. If you could give us a better description of what you have then we are better placed to advise on the possible solutions.

Hi sorry mate, it's a new toilet only 3 or 4 years old, no ball valve and the inlet valve is 11inches from inside the bottom of the cistern to the top of the valve. I can dig out the make of the toilet if that helps.
