Hi,

In my house we have a separate toilet and bath, the toilet has laminate flooring and painted wall(painted on top of wall paper), I am plannng to put tile on the floor and wall.
I removed the skirting so that I could tile till the floor but when I removed the skirting the plaster came of from some places and some places it is loose. What should I do to get a plain solid surface to tile on, this is going to be my first tiling project.
Thanks,

Remove all of the wall paper and any loose plaster, then either render the patches or undercoat plaster then skim. Make sure whatever you use is fully dry before you tile.

Is the floor under the laminate just floorboards at the moment?

Thanks for the quick reply. How much time do you think I should leave it to dry?

Under the laminate it is floorboard

Thanks
