Recently I had to shut the water off to the house, when putting back on this caused a few pressure noises when using taps around the house. When using the shower the next time the water supply did not fully stop when switching off, leaving us with a steady stream of water coming from the shower head.

Is it possible that pressure may have knocked the solenoid valve out?

I'm thinking of replacing the shower completely as the difference between part cost and new shower is about £60. What I'm wary of is changing the shower unit and the possibility of this not fixing the issue, if the problem is not the solenoid.

Any help / guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks
