This is possibly a silly question, but does a tumble dryer need a water supply?

I understand that there are condensing and vented types. I plan to get a condensing one. A friend suggested that this might need a cold water supply to do the condensing. Is this the case?

Thanks.

Nope. No water supply needed. There is a model from Crosslee that can have a drain hose attached, negating the need to empty the container.
