Hi
I started experiencing a weird problem from today morning, went to shower and turned on the electric shower to put it to medium (hot setting) and that turned off the switch in my fuse box so that the whole house's electric supply got off.
Turned it on and tried again... keeping on low, which gives almost cold water works fine, but setting to medium is causing the fuse box to set the switch to off.
Very confused whether this could be something wrong with the shower itself or something wrong with the electricity???

Could anyone help please?

Thanks in advance.

If the shower is a new (and more powerful) one, might it be a simple overload?

Imagine an 8.5 on a 32A breaker. Now it's 10.5. On a lesser setting, the breaker holds, but not when it is turned up.

says "whole house", so we're guessing it's a main RCD..

which would indicate either a cracked element leaking to earth when switched in ( higher heat setting ), or loose connections causing rcd to behave strangely..
