I cannot access the ceiling void and wish to run 6mm cable for a cooker supply from consumer unit in one room to kitchen. In order to reach the kitchen is it legal to bury approx 1.5m of cable under the concrete floor. I know this is a real pain to chase out but looks like the only option other than chasing walls all the way around the room.

It is ok to do this, but you need to protect the cable, either by using a few bits of earthed metal conduit or steel wire armour (SWA) cable, where it runs under the concrete.

You may be best getting an electrician in to fit these items for you - every install is different, he may come up with a way you haven't thought of.

Also, earthed metal conduit requires specialist equipment to make off the ends, and SWA is very difficult to bend around corners and a tad tricky to terminate.

Do you know about part p? Any new circuits must be notified to your local building control and inspected and tested. Go speak to them before you proceed. Though if you get a registered spark to do all the work, you dont need to notify.
