Is ring rcd protected? is supplementary bonding in place? what zone is the heater in?

Hi johnney
The ring is RCD protected, there is no supplementary bonding in the bathroom as it is all plastic pipework. The only bonding is 10mm from the CCU to the gas and one the water main, which is approx 500mm of copper pipe at the entry point and then after all plastic pipework.
The placement for the radiant heater is in zone 3
Thanks for your assistance.

Is there supplementary bonding to light or shower /shaver in bathroom from heater, its not just metal pipes that need bonding its also any thing that is electric in any zones, your ok in zone 3 as long as supplementary bonding is in place.

Dont know if it is a reg but don't the heater have to have double pole isolation with at least 3mm contact seperation.

Yep.

The way I normally do this is to install a heater with integral pull cord in the bathroom.

This connects to a flex outlet plate mounted at ceiling level above the heater.

The flex outlet is then fed from a switched FCU mounted outside the bathroom (normally above the door next to the fan isolator)

The normal way is to mount a double pole switched fuse-connection unit OUTside the bathroom door (with an appropriate fuse rating), and from that, feed a ceiling level flex cord outlet plate, which in turn feeds the heater with heat resistant flex (the sort they wire immersion heaters with).

No, but a flex outlet plate at ceiling level will cause one.
