Updating Kitchen Worktop

I'm currently updating my kitchen (painting units etc). Due to a limited budget I would like to update my laminate worktop rather then replace it. Am I wrong in thinking you can purchase laminate in rolls to re-cover the worktop? As painting it is out of the question, any other ideas would be welcome.

why not tile over it? it is a good base to go from, just add some edging and infill with tiles

Thanks for the idea. Can i use any type of tile eg wall or floor, or are there specialised tiles for worktops available?

pretty much any type, but it needs to be non porus otherwise it will stain, but the world is your oyster!

you can by the laminate for work tops try Brent Plastics but you won't get it to stick properly to the postform edge without the proper machinary

Tiling a worktop is not as straight forward as you think. Wall tiles are general thin, you need a thick tile, you need waterproff adhesive. Then the question of grout!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just finished laying 6 metres (yesterday) of tiles on kitchen worktop, I have been in contact with various manufactures/supplies re WHAT grout. I have made my choice based on how I done a similar project 15 years ago.

This is not a job for a novice.

no its not straight forward but with a little effort and forethought a good result can be achieved. The best thing to do with regards to type of grout and adhesive is pop into a tile shop and see what they recommend. If you dont try you will never learn

I agree with if not tried you wont know, But dont try your first grouting job with 'Epoxy'
