Hi all, I’ve been renovating a 2007 house and last year replaced the UPVC french doors with bi fold aluminium ones. This left me with a large gap around the doorway which my plasterer has resolved on the walls and ceiling. On the floor was a thick grey plastic trim, which wasn’t solid and so I planned to take out and fill with levelling compound once we came to laying the carpet etc. I’ve now installed and painted the new skirting (for Christmas!) and come to continue the lounge only to find the grey trim just will not come out from under the skirting and I just can’t work out why? Seems to be connected to a similar vertical trim hence it not coming free.
So what are my options? I’m putting carpet down. I’ve used a router to trim as far back as I can on the right side, but am thinking a small angle grinder may be a better option and achieve a cleaner finish before creating a seal for the compound? Also what compound shall I use? Thanks in advance.
