Using Sleepers as a form for shed base

HI,

I want to use railways sleepers as a form for a shed base of concrete, i know they can absorb water but would this have an impact on cement at all?

the base is about 3.5m by 3.2m and i'm hoping to leave the sleepers in place to make the edge a bit better looking.
