I have taken a look at my boiler which is a vaillant 828e and it seems the diverter valve stops working when it gets up to operating temperature. Ie when the central heating is on it will not divert back to operate domestic hot water unless I turn off heating for 5-10 minutes to enable the valve to cool. Which means obviously the rubber ball valve inside the diverter expands more than the valve casing and causes too much friction. So it seams like it's a design fault. Does anyone know if Vaillant have manufactured a modified valve for this boiler. Or a new rubber ball with possibly a ptfe liner to fit into the diverter housing?
Or is it just that the actuator isn't man enough for the job and needs a new one or a modified one?
Or is it something else completely (don't think so)
