Vaillant Ecotec Plus 831 Strange Issue

I have just noticed that when I draw cold water from my kitchen as I turn off the cold water tap off the boiler starts the pump and very briefly starts the igniter and the symbol comes on as it I was drawing hot water.

What the hell could this be?
Has anyone seen this before?

you have a dead leg somewhere in the pipe work that has got trapped air,find it release it or you can alter a setting in one of the d menus.

Dangermouse will tell you which in a couple of mins.

Think it is d80, but best to find the dead leg.

Have you had any work done recently, or has it always done it?

Yes just had a bathroom fitted and it does have a dead leg in it where the old hot tap was.

If I bleed this will it be ok after that.

WRAS Regulations require you to cut out the dead leg, for water hygiene reasons, and it will prevent air building up in future

setting d88 to 1 is a workaround if you can't eliminate a deadleg.
