I have a Valiant Sine 18 Combi Boiler which has served me well for many years. I now have a problem. I can only get hot water to the taps when the heating side is on. If the heating side is off, I only get cold water from the taps. Can anybody help.

Sounds like your diaphragm is gone. You can replace the unit or repair it. Repairing is a bit of a job but a lot cheaper. Sines can be about 20 years old and in those days the manufacturers did not care too much about accessibility so you may have to do a bit of work before you can even get it out.

Many thanks for your help, ChrisR & bengasman.

One last question before I set to work on it. Where is the diaphriam situated in the boiler, is it part of the Diverter Valve?

By the way the Model is a VCW-sine18 T3W - GC No. 47 04401

Yes it is, it's about 3" diameter which should help identify which screws...

Round thing at the bottom... can send you the PDF if you can take 9Mb, but you shouldn't need it.

Thanks for your quick response ChrisR. I would be grateful if you could email me the PDF. Many thanks again.

Hi, just reading this thread & have the exact same issue with my VCW-ine 18 combi. Could either ChrisR or KenD you please email me the 9Mb pdf file please.

Many thanks

Tried, but it wound up over 12mB and your isp only accept up to 10. Sorry.
You might want to delete your email addy now.
