Then i`m sorry to say you`ll have to get an engineer out to look at it. Best keep out of the boiler and let a boiler engineer have the heartache of fixing it!
I think I know where you are coming from, the same happened to my Vokera boiler, it's the shaft on the control knob that snaps. Turn this control, if the lights do not go out in the off position it's the shaft that is broken.
A new knob is around £6.00, you need to be a little mechanically minded to take off the old one and replace it with the new as you need to get to the circuit board.
Check the vokera website for local part stockists, there are agents in bradford and leeds if my memory serves me correctly.
