what is the allowed drop - when calculating a circuit i came up with a volt drop of 1.67 volts, is this comparable to the 3% or 5% as stated in regs or am i wrong?

ie 5% of 230 = 11.5v (is this the maximum allowed drop) or is it 4% of circuit which my college lecturer mentioned?

BS7671:2008 (17th edition), based on 230v.....

3% for lighting (6.9v)

5% for other circuits (11.5v)

And the percentage is to the point of utilsation, not just per circuit.

What I mean is, you need to take account of any submains etc between the mains intake and the last final point of a circuit.
