I've got a problem with my Ariston (AWD 12) washer/dryer;

The wash/spin cycles work fine.

After the 'dry' cycle has finished the clothes are hot but dripping wet !

The drum appears to have filled during the dry cycle.

I currently have the top off the machine and have taken off the condenser and the inlet valves.
I can't see anything obviously amiss with anything.

Anyone got any suggestions on what could be wrong?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Henry.

condensor uses water in drying process, so i sugeest you check pump / filter

Thanks breezer.
Pump runs ok during wash cycle. It also runs when taken off and given a 240V supply.
I'm now suspecting that the circuit board isn't switching on the pump during dry cycle.

I have a clear plastic box type thing between the fan and the back of the outer drum which has a water supply. I presume this is the condenser?
It has a bit of 'fluff' in it but not enough to cause a blockage.

I can't see a filter anywhere. Where might that be ?

Thanks,
Henry.

Most likely a fault with the main pcb. Not a cheap repair unfortunately.
If the machine is less than 5 years old give Indesit a call, 5 year parts warranty. You pay for the call out.

Thanks breezer & sleepyhead.

It was indeed the circuit board.
The machine failed about 3 year ago when it was under warranty & the repair man diagnosed the fault as being the pcb and replaced it.
I'm now glad that I kept the old board cos I have replaced the 'new' one with the old one and the drying cycle works fine.
Of course, the original fault on the first pcb is still there but I'm confident that I have now diagnosed the problem successfully.

P.s anyone any idea how much these blighters cost?

Regards,
Henry.

Couple of companies that repair theses boards. I'll try and find the address for you after work tonight.

Thanks again sleepyhead,
Seen a new replacement on the web for £83 !!!

OUCH !

I'll try to get mine repaired if possible ?

£83 for the board. You'll probably need an eprom as well.
Company to find is EMW electronics. I'm still looking for their details.
Got it. 0115 9652118
Give them a call and they'll give you prices etc.

Thanks sleepy.
I'll give them a call.

Why will I need an 'EPROM' and what does that do?

The engineer I mentioned who replaced the PCB a couple of year ago did indeed also replace the 'EPROM'.

I'm interested to know what this is for and why it should be changed along with the PCB?

Regards,
Henry.

The eprom holds the software that runs your machine.
If yours is plugged into a socket it may well be reusable.
In the trade we've always replaced both.
