Water Softener Recomendations

Hi,
I'm going to fit a water softener, plumbing, location etc is no problem for me. It will be feeding a 4 bed+granny flat house with 5 adults in residence.

I've never had a water softener before, in researching I'm heading towards twin tank, metered softener.

I'd appreciate comments on the above, anybody have any preferences between electric / non electric models.

My preference would be metered, electric every time. The turbine-driven ones are reported to be temperamental if any particles in water There's no particular reason for a 2-tank model if you set it to re-gen in the middle of the night.
