Why would you use them instead of a normal PIR / dual tech?

Pyronix TMD , two detectors in one ( non overlapping ) plus microwave for confirmed signalling
Saves the hassle of fitting two separate detectors, although I would only use them in relatively benign office/light commercial environments (the PIR at the bottom is not adjustable in terms of sensitivity)
You can also set them to work as a single detector for really harsh areas.
