We've had a few calls for PIR's from landlords who are handing the properties over to the council to let.
I don't think the councils will take them unless the PIR is satisfactory but there is some sort of deal where the councils pays for some/all of any remedial works that maybe required. The council also get their own prices for the works.
But as you say, for private lets there is no requirement for a PIR....yet
