Where to buy double glazed glass only?

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the single pane glass in my front door and side windows either side of door. The front door enters into a porch which has UPVc double glazing to the exterior. The existing wood frame is really thick, like over 2'' so I've plenty of space for a thicker double glazed option. I want to do this just to improve thermal heat loss into the un heated porch area but want to preserve the original door and frame.
I just can't seem to find any companies that supply glass only that are reasonably priced. I'm in the east midlands if that matters. I found 1 company but they wanted nearly £400 for just the two side windows which would be around 600 x 1800mm each. Seems a bit steep or am i being tight?

There used to be a company in Leicester who supply DG units, at the junction of Blackbird road and Devonshire avenue. You need to find out who supplies the local tradesmen. In Portsmouth its EE Glass.

Their online configurator will give you a reasonable idea of the costs involved.
I get a price of around £285 for two 600 X 1800 sealed units - given the size and position of your units, they should probably be toughened glass, so make sure you include that in any price comparisons.

Have a ring round (or a wander round) any of your local double glazing companies- many weld the frames etc themselves and order the glass in, they're usually happy to tack an extra lump of glass on the list (to whatever spec you require).
