Hi All, my daughter has a whirlpool built in oven satan chrome finish, she has only had the house 1 year but i suspect the oven is some 10yrs old or thereabouts, last night she said she had no power whatsoever to the main oven, the hob works fine ,that is electric i have checked the main cooker switch on the wall and there is power to that and from that to the hob, but nothing to the built in oven, not even the neon lights on the panel at the front, any suggestions would be appreciated,
i suppose to remove it from its housing you release the small chipboard screws in the trim on the vertical trim on either side,

many thanks david

Check the oven element it could have blown. You dont say whether it is a fan oven or not so will give generic advice.

The fan oven element is usually accessed by removing a plate from the rear of the oven cavity (inside).

Quite often you can see the element damaged if it is, if it is not a fan oven then the elements could be either side of the oven or top and bottom.

Generally the resistances are about the 27 ohm mark.

Ensure the power is off before attempting to dismantle any part of the oven.
