Whirlpool dishwasher trips main fuse box throughout washing

I have inherited a Whirlpool Sixth Sense Dishwasher ADP 2962 which trips the mains fuse at each point it moves to the next stage in the washing programme.
It appears to do everything else OK - fills/drains/heats up etc.
Just paid £85 for engineer to install new hose and can't afford for them to come back and rip us off again.
Could it be the thermal fuse I keep reading about? Is it worth fixing? Thanks in advance
