Whirlpool Ultimate Care II 8 cycle 5 speed

My wife complained of a smell in the laundry room, I entered and immediately noticed that there was the distinct burnt electrical smell. The washer (4 years old and one move with 4 months of winter storage with antifreeze) would not function on any setting. I waited 2 hours and let the machine cool. I was able to have the machine start up and spin to remove the water out. Machine is unplugged and pursuing to find schematics. I waould assume that there either it is a board that has overheated or coating on motor has melted to produce the smell. Any ideas or recall on this Model/Serial range?
