iWhy do some engineers link out bell tamper in the bell box??

I have come across a few like this now where the wires have been cut before the tamper switch and twisted together , whats the point.

Lazy?
How old were the systems? Years ago they used the spare cores from the bell for a contact/pir/shock and this made the spare pair at the bell useless.

Also could have been damage to the cable the twisted pair for continuity testing and when there was none left there.

Next :D

The last one i saw like this was fairly new (1yr or less) , the tamper wires were wired from the SAB back to the pAnnel , but the wires coming from the sab to the tamp switch were joint with a terminal block connector?!?

I tested the switch and tamper wires for continuity and it bleep up fine?!

Why this was done i dont know?

I know some take a resistance reading of every cable this way. SSAIB rule IIRC and may have forgotten to refit.
NACOSS we always take with the device.
