on monday have to fix in 150mm window straps to thermalite blocks and wondered whats the easiest fixings to use.
have about 150 straps to fix with 2 fixings each one i don't fancy using plugs for them all but masonry screws seem a little over the top for thermalite blocks so wondered what other people used .
cheers :)

I've fixed wall plate straps into Thermalite before now using #12 screws (not the cheapest ones, though, nice deep threads) - they just screw straight in (on high speed). Recently did a rip-out and replace after a fire where all the straps had been nailed in with a Passy gun, although they were ring nails. Still in place after more than 30 years and a fire, so even that must work!

Use normal twin thread, nr 8 or 10 about 60-70mm long and screw them in slowly with a cordless on low torque so that they don't over-tighten and spin in the block
