Surely the whole concept of "women and children first" is both sexist and ageist???????

Yes, of course, but the discussion was about the merits of the policy, and therefore there were no potentially offensive or derogatory remarks, apart from the humerous ones, well none that I saw.
Therefore there was nothing for me to feel offended by.
BTW, thank you for your informative comments.
Incidentally, it was also about chivalry, to a degee.

I really am not telling anyone what to do.
I am sure that we all agree that we are all entitled to an opinion...if mine is different to everyone else ...then so be it....at least I am true to myself and do not pretend to be something that I am not just to follow the crowd.
