Wood Treatment (Interior)

Hi guys, any advice on what to use to finish 2 loft trusses which are inside, and visible, in my loft extension (lined loft)?

No experience in this at all, considered clear varnish, sanding down, `plating` with hardwood, painting white (to match walls). For info the skirtings/facings etc are white oak.

get some Osmo Polyx Oil Satin or Matt, its micro-porous so will let the wood breathe. Its goes on easy and you don't need much to go a long way.
