i've knocked through the wall which divied my kitchen and dinnig room to create one large room , i'm going to put a new kitchen where the dinning room was and want to tile the whole area , the two problems what are worrying me are
1- the dinning roon has floor boards and the old kitchen concrete floors which are on the same level . if i cover the floor boards in ply then it will be higher than the concrete floor ?
2-The tiles i wish to lay are large and i want to lay them in a brick affected , but i've been told that you cannot lay a tile half on the wooden flor and half on the concrete because of the different adhesive , one which is flexi and one which is not . how do i get around this problem ?
Many thanks ,

How about covering the whole of the area with 'No More Ply 6mm?'

you say cover the area in 6mm ply , but can i cover the concrete floor in ply ? and if so how do i fix it to the concrete ? cheers

No. Google 'No more ply' it's a cement based backer board. It would be ideal for what you want.

cheers joe sound like its just the job , would you use 6mm ply on floor boards and 6mm No More Ply on concrete or No More Ply all over ? thanks again

Use the 'no more ply' all over so that you have no conflict re movement between the two different substrates. You can get it on 'special' atm.

sorry to be a pain joe , but you said get them on special on atm , what do you mean by " get them on special on atm " cheers again

The sheets are cheap. Do a Google.
