worcester 240 combi boiler

can anyone help??

I've got a worcester 240 combi boiler which has stopped working, it wouldn't fire and the pressure level had dropped. When this happened before I was told to opened the pressure gauge to the right level. I have done this again, but when I tried to re light like last time, but the reset button is depressed.

A bit like saying "my car won't start though I've put petrol in, what's wrong with it?"
Does the boiler do anthing? Pilot lit? Fan running?

sorry! thought it was obvious... there is no pilot light. so when i tried to turn the heating on nothing happened, the boiler makes the sound as if it is going to fire up, but doesn't. as the last time this happened i was told it was due to the lack of pressure, i made sure i got the pressure back up to where it should've been. i was told that pressing the reset button would relight it but this time as i said the reset button is stuck in or "depressed" i.e not sticking out for me to be able to press it.

is that anymore help? i'm afraid i don't know the technical terms...

i can't find the "read this before you ask a question"... have had a laugh at myself for being so dense though at the lack of info i gave!

Assuming that your boiler is indeed one with a permanent pilot, can never remember which one are, that will be the problem.
It may just have gone out in which case all you have to do is download the manual form Worcester-Bosch.co.uk and follow instructions precisely.
If that does not do the trick, most likely just the thermocouple gone

Thank you for your advice. I've got the manual and have done as it says but nothing... it doesn't mention what to do if the reset button is stuck in! Sounds like it must be the" thermocouple" which must need an expert! Thanks again
