I have had this worcester 240 Combi Boiler for about 14 years. Apart from changing the fan and replacing the diverter valve diaphram all has been good.
The boiler operates normally in CH mode but when hot water is demanded the boiler has been emmitting a very loud wooshing droning sound. This happens about 10 seconds after the hot water is on. If the hot water flow is low then this sound seems to reduce and the sound seems to cycle (sound seems to be when the boiler is ignited). When running a bath the sound seems to go on for a lot longer.
This has been happening for about 2 - 3 weeks now. I have noted today that the sound seems to be eminating from the burner vessle itself, it doesn't seem to be from the pump or water-water heat exchanger.
Does anyone know what this could be?
Thanks in advance.
