I have searched but cannot find a solution.

WORCESTER GREENSTAR 24i Junior

Usual thing...Recently moved in, drained CH to remove a rad in an upstairs bedroom to decorate.

Now there is no hot water ? The rad is still off the wall and the valves are still open, so there is zero CH pressure.

Can I have HW with the system in this state. The wife is starting to smell a bit now...she needs a shower !!!

The blue power light is on, but the pilot light is off ? The HW was working perfectly before, however I haven't had the heating on since moving in, so can't say about that, but I assume it was fine.

Your boiler wont work without pressure, you will need to close the rad valves and refill, your boiler does not have a pilot light it has automatic ignition.

Doh !!!

Thanks.

Maybe a stupid question, but bear with me. How do I close off a TRV ? Do I just turn it right down to zero ?

If you just turn it to zero, it should close - but could open again if the room temperature drops.

Either remove the TRV head and fit the plastic decorator cap you probably haven't got, or put a brass cap on the outlet where the radiator connected - these: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/d20/sd2697/p51790 you will also need a rubber washer to put inside it.

For next time, it is not necessary or desirable to drain the entire system just to remove a radiator.
When refilling, you MUST ensure all of the air is removed before switching the boiler on - expensive damage will occur if air is left in the boiler.
