This particular boiler was working ok in heating mode but hot water was cutting out. The temperature at the taps stayed steady and consistantly hot around 52 degrees, when it was working but the primary temperature display on the fascia was temperamental, one minute it was rising slowly the next minute up at 90 degrees not allowing the hot tap to distribute hot water. Fault history EA, FD and A1 I'm not sure in which order. I was called to this job to quote for a new boiler and was surprised to see what isn't the oldest boiler in the world. I couldn't investigate to deeply as it was a quote allocated and not a breakdown and practically build round with limited access. I was thinking sticky diverter motor, primary plate blockage any ideas? I thought with a blockage the temperature at the taps would fluctuate. I will arrange to go back and investigate further.
