A friend of mine needs to create something to make a work area. The work will consist of fixing electrical items involved in producing/making music and as such will be relatively clean (no cutting of wood or metal)

He is thinking of kitchen worktops but say the standard 600m wide is too narrow. Im sure kitchen worktops come wider but he says he cant find any.

The othe option he is thinking of is inch think MDf or PLY covered with some sort of vinyl (like flooring) but im not sure it will be thick enough

He wants it to look nice and neat as he has customers who come to his place of work

Do these ideas sound ok or do you have any more?

Google will easily turn up a local seller of 900mm deep double-edged worktop (for breakfast bars). Easily cut to any depth desired.
