Worm Casts

Why have worms casts suddenly sprouted across my lawn? The past 2 seasons have been clear of them but having mown my lawn this morning, it looks a right mess.

The crazy weather we have had this season is most likely the cause, but we regularly suffer inconsistent weather patterns, but this is the worst I have experienced with worm casts.

It means you have a lovely healthy wormy lawn. It always happens in damp autumn weather.

Get a besome broom (witches broom) and brush them before mowing, or go over them with a lawn rake.

When the soil becomes water logged they tend to surface.

Agree with Nerine, but first let them dry off or you'll still end up with a muddy mess.

Are they actually from worms or from leatherjackets? That could mean trouble later on
