I don't think anything on the road is legal if there is no 'type approval'.

Those two words are the reason why ACPO speeding guidelines have 10% + 2 added to limits .... 'Type Approval' for Gatso cameras promises that accuracy, otherwise there'd be zilch... Especially with Govn attitude to moto-rists ooh, they do hate 'rists, 'til the revenue opens it's hands.

i suppose you are right. the type approval would no doubt be on the donor complete unit and not on the type approved components that i could cobble together to make a usable unit.
