Zanussi fl 1085 Washing Machine: How to remove top?

I need to replace the controller knob on my zanussi fl 1085, but where I expected to find 2 phillips screws on either side the back, I found what look like 2 rivets holding the top in place. How do I get the top off to remove the front panel?

Just an idea. It's been ages since I saw this machine...

If you place hands on the side of the machine, a cm below the lid?

Using your thumbs push the top lid back...

It should slide and pop backwards. Just reverse the action to replace it.
