Strange problem with my Beko fan oven. The oven was overheating and not switching off no matter how hot it got. I replaced the thermostat and the oven now heats and switches on/off correctly. However as soon as I push the cooker back into the slot with the back against the wall the oven light comes on and it stays on and overheats again. If I move it out from the wall, even by a centimetre or two it works fine again.

Anybody got any ideas of anything else I can try.

Did you try it with it pulled away from the wall before replacing the stat? Sounds like either poor ventilation or a trapped wire somewhere.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I didn't try it pulled out from the wall before I replaced the thermostat, didn't even think about it. I've now checked the wiring and made sure that the vents are all clean and clear but still getting the same problem.

Any other ideas?
