I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WT540/1P. The machine does not go through the wash cycle properly. While filling with water the drum would normally rotate every so often to ‘wash’ the clothes. All that happens is the drum just moves left or right a few degrees as if it doesn’t have enough power to turn a full rotation. Interestingly it does appear to spin correctly.

I have just replaced the brushes in the motor and this has not made any difference. I have cleaned out the pump and check that is working fine.

I am now stumped and fear a PCB fault.

Order the Recon PCB and it arrived next day (today). Just fitted it and... yep you have guessed it the problem still existis.

So PCB will be going back in the morning. I guess there is only the motor left! I think it is time to upgrade my washing machine.
