Hi

Hope this is the right forum area.
Bump into the back of someone at 5 mph entering a roundabout, yep stupid move, looking at the cars on the roundabout, not the one in front.

The front left took the impact, seems headlight has been knocked in, it is loose, but still firmly held.
The bumper is slightly pushed in.

I've added some photos.

So the question is, I'm going to take things apart to look at the real damage.
What should I be aware of, tools I may need.
Any tips or advice?

Thanks

nothing really to be aware of, you wont know what is bent/broken until you start taking the bumper off and removing the headlamp.
Most of these are easy to remove but some fasteners may be well hidden.
A decent socket set, screwdrivers and some splined/hex bits will be mostly needed here.

You'll probably have a broken headlight mounting which will mean new headlight, but it's true you won't see it properly until you have the bumper out.

Most metalwork with minor damage like that can be knocked back into shape. It's likely that rather than the bumper having broken, that's made of plastic and is flexible. Measure against the other side and if it's just the upper crossmember that's out then a chunk of 4x2 and a lump hammer from behind should get it back into shape. Measure to the back of the engine bay or windscreen as a reference.

Wing bolts (assuming it's bolted) might have enough slack on them just to slide it back into plumb with the bonnet line. Do that last.
