connecting foundations

hi all,

need to put a small foundation strip next to existing foundations which is the best meothrd of connecting the two together

all i was going to do is rough up the smooth edges of the existing foundations fix some rebar into the existing with HILTI kemfix and pour

is this acceptable or is there a better practice,

both foundation at the same deepth or the new a bit deeper??
