Hello, I have a job that requires joining a 200x90 PFC at 90angle to a 203x203 46 RSJ for a floor. There are no specs on the engineers plans, so what is the correct way to do it?

A bracket. But the channel wont fit in the web without cutting.

You need to get the engineer to clarify his design

Ask your engineer to design a connection for you.

If you already have the steelwork on site angle cleats will avoid the need for welding, otherwise you can use an endplate welded to the PFC, or a fin plate welded to the UC.

The flanges of the PFC will have to be notched back to allow fitment.

Either that or get the steel fabricator to do the joint, just need the forces from the engineer.
