No she had a two bed home and could only upgrade to four beds still very cramped for 7 people. Even if she found a larger property she would fall into the 'Bedroom tax' problem.

she had six and four have been taken away and fostered?

She has two and has fostered four cousins, but if she has more than 4 bedrooms will be considered to have spare rooms as only one fostered child is taken into account when assessing.

This is madness indeed, especially since AFAIK regulations on fostering stipulate that fostered children must be allocated separate, individual, rooms.

Yes complete madness, bedroom tax was intended to free up large homes but penalises anyone fostering in social housing and actually creates overcrowding..
