Hi All, Question 1 - can someone confirm the required ohms for a healthy solenoid valve from a domestic reillo oil burner? Q2 whats the expected vacuum reading for a conventional gravity feed oil supply? many thanks! Simon

Pretty sure its this way round 
Black to brown, high at 1340 ohms approx
Black to blue, low at 2 to 3 ohms.

Now im no expert on oil as ive not long qualified but im sure you shouldnt get a vacuum reading unless there is a problem with fueling for example a blockage

Vacuum reading on a gravity supply should be very low. If you do not get a feed out of the supply pipe on a gravity system, then there must be a blockage in the fuel pipe or filter.
