Hi, My plumber and joiner have not co-operated on my shower enclosure and left a small. niggly problem. The old installation and tiles were remved. The plumber installed the new shower tray and enclosure then the joine installed shower panels. We kept the Bristan Artisan mixer on the wall. This has left more of the pipework protruding and there isn't enough thread for the chrome collars to thread on the shower mixer pipes. The collars are only about 20-22mm deep and I need something about 3-4 mm deeper. Any ideas? Can I obtain different collars ? This is very stressful - a good looking shower install but not quite finished and tidy to use. thanks.

Surely this is your plumbers problem? Isn't this what you pay him for?

What about a small dab of silicone behind the collars, then a bit of tape to hold them in place till they've set.

They should have got this right though

Is this the type you need?

I have a similar pair to this except that the thread is raised slightly at the front.

They are:

63mm x 23mm (25mm total depth including raised thread on front)

the thread is 1" (25mm approx.)

I'm not sure if you can get these separately but if it is what you need I could put them in the post to you - I don't want any payment for them, they are just gathering dust in my spares box.

I've got to take someresponsibility for this. I didn't clarify with the plumber that I was going from big tiles and lots of adhesive to panels - but I'm disappointed the 2 people didn't talk.

Anyhow, have stacked a pair of similar collars - plumber had spares. This isn't perfect but works for now.
