Hi there,

Complete DIY and boiler novice here.

I've got a vaillant combi vcw gb 242 e boiler in a rented flat and am having problems with the hot water, sometimes it can take up to 10 mins to heat up and it sometimes can go off for hours at a time.

It works better for the shower than it does the sink, during the day and sometimes at night you can't get any hot water to come out the taps in the kitchen.

The pressure gauge is quite low.....could it be this? If so how do I increase the pressure on the boiler without damaging it?

CAN ANYONE HELP ME?? Would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

you should have a filling loop to repressurise the system, usually near the boiler

any other issues should be sorted by the landlord, or his/her agent.

If you are the tenant, you shouldnt be worrying yourself, get the landlord to get it sorted pronto.
