A wee bit more information on the drill and chuck type would be helpful.

spray with wd40 and a little tap with a hammer normally works with screw type chucks. SDS is a bit more problematic

some cheaper drills have a locking ring on the inside edge off the chuck where it faces the drill body icon_wink.gif

Sometime the chuck jaws lock up on the drill, usually on either cheap or very worn chucks, if you can loosten the chuck with the key then tap the end of the drill with a copper mallet, this should shock the chuck open. If this is the case then it would be a good idea to replace the chuck with a new one.
