I have got an e-mail with a atto attachment its from the states and its an answer we are waiting for so its trusted how do i open it or should that be what programme do I need to open it?

I managed to open in word or did I, there was nothing on it so have e-mailed back to the sender awaiting reply,its from a hotel we are staying at later in the year.
